This morning we connected some more dots concerning the Trinity.

God the Father

God the Son

God the Holy Spirit

Being in three parts, all contain the fulness of the Godhead, but are separate and distinct.

We utilized Old Testament accounts to further understand that the Holy Spirit contains the complete essence and nature of God, and that it is the same Holy Spirit residing in you today, if you’re saved.

-Romans 8:1-2 – Free will allows us now to walk either by the flesh or by the Spirit.

1.      Romans 7:19-25 – “19For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.”

-Romans 8:6

1.      Carnally minded – putting anything above God. Pleasures and entertainment, wife, kids, work, responsibilities, habits, absolutely anything.

2.      Spiritually minded – Keeping God first including all things that deepen your relationship with Him. Study, prayer, fasting, church attendance, witnessing, good works in His name.

3.      Matthew 6:33 – “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

-Romans 8:7-8 – Good people don’t go to heaven, because there are no good people.

-Romans 8:9-11 – Those who are saved have full access to the essence and nature of God if they will seek it and desire it.

1.      The power of the warriors, the wisdom of the prophets, the knowledge of the workers, and the Nature of God himself.
