Fear, Knowledge, Love Part 2 – 1 Corinthians 13:7-131

-You can bear it! (VS. 7)

·         Galatians 6:1-3 – “1Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. 2Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. 3For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.”

o   To bear and to endure may seem like redundancy in this verse, but one means to roof over (stegō) and the other means to stay under (hupemanō)

o   All encompassing generosity and compassion.

·         1 Corinthians 9:22-23 – “22To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.”

-All the questions that we have, everything we think we know, the prophecy that we try to decipher. It will all be either trashed or brought to fulfillment. (VS. 8-10)

·         Titus 3:9 – “But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.”

·         Proverbs 20:3 – “It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.”

o   To cease from controversy.

o   A fool will continue to be obstinate and close minded.

-Looking through frosted glass. (VS. 12)

·         The comprehension we have at present is limited to outline and color. The truest details are not yet visible.

-But one day! We will see it clearly! (VS. 12)

·         2 Thessalonians 1:7 – “And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,”

-As for now, we have faith, hope, and love! They greatest of these is love! (VS. 13)

·         Jeremiah 31:3 – “The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”
